We’re excited to share some news about what’s happening at Rat des Champs! This June, the Rat des Champs team took a long-awaited trip to Los Angeles to meet the talented development and production team at TEG, a fashion house dedicated to supporting small and independent designers. This trip was a major milestone for us, as it included our very first garment fittings—an experience that brought our designs to life in a way we’d been dreaming about for so long.
Over the past two years, like so many others, we encountered our share of challenges, from navigating closures to dealing with logistical and personal hurdles brought on by the pandemic. By the end of 2021, the future of Rat des Champs was uncertain. But as the saying goes, the light shines brightest in the darkness. At a crucial moment, we had the opportunity to work with the dedicated team at TEG, which brought a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
The First Fittings: A Dream Realized
Our trip marked the first in-person meeting with TEG and the chance to see initial samples of our dress designs. TEG brought these pieces to life with beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. Two distinct styles emerged from this collaboration, forming the foundation of the upcoming Rat des Champs collection. Standing in the room, holding our designs, and seeing them materialize was a powerful moment that underscored why we started this journey in the first place.
A Message to Dreamers and Makers
